Majed’s Journey
Majed’s musical story began in Lebanon, where he started playing the keyboard at just six years old. By his early years, he was already performing regularly, balancing school with his passion for music. At school, Majed was mentored by “Ghazi Al Shayah”, who played a pivotal role in nurturing his musical talent. Ghazi Al Shayah’s influence remains a cherished memory, as he sadly passed away, leaving behind a legacy of musical inspiration. His love for music blossomed as he participated in school anthems, stage events, and national/cultural celebrations.
At age 11, he began formal training at the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music, studying the Oriental Oud under “Ghassan Zarzour” during his early years and later under “Hussein Khalil”, the brother of the renowned singer “Oumeima Khalil”.
At age 13, Majed joined his school’s music scouts program at OMEC and began playing the trumpet, further diversifying his musical skills.
During his school and university years, Majed performed with music clubs, entertained elders, contributed to village celebrations, and played alongside singers as part of their bands. Many of these events were non-profit, reflecting his deep commitment to sharing the joy of music.
One of his most cherished milestones was his first solo Oud performance for a wedding at the Coral Beach Hotel & Resort Beirut in 2017.
In 2017, Majed relocated to the United States, building a successful career as a computer engineer while expanding his artistry. In 2022, he earned a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from the University of Michigan.
Known for blending traditional Arabic melodies with modern interpretations, he has shared his Oud performances with diverse audiences across the US and Central America.
